Cover & Title Reveal: Amanda Dykes’ All the Lost Places

I recently wrote a book review that began, “And there you have it. Amanda redeemed romance novels for me.” It was that good. (If you don’t know me, I’m a hopeful romantic but I’m infamously hard on the genre.) So naturally, I’ve been stoked for all the details on Amanda Dykes’ newest novel, a Venetian tale- especially since I was working on a little canal story of my own at the same time. I’ve been eating up every little detail on social media and I’m so excited to help reveal the title and cover today!

“So,” you may ask, “What’s this new book even about?” Well, I’m so glad you asked! Here’s a blurb before I show you the GORGEOUS cover design!

When a baby is discovered floating in a basket along the canals of 1807 Venice, a guild of artisans takes him in and raises him as a son, skilled in each of their trades. Although the boy, Sebastian Trovato, has wrestled with questions of his origins, it isn’t until a woman washes ashore his lagoon island that answers begin to emerge. In hunting down his story, Sebastian must make choices that could alter not just his own future, but that of the beloved floating city.

Decades later, Daniel Goodman is given a fresh start in life as the century turns. Hoping to redeem a past laden in regrets, he is sent on an assignment from California to Venice to procure and translate a rare book. There, he discovers a mystery wrapped in the pages of that filigree-covered volume. With the help of Vittoria, a bookshop keeper, Daniel finds himself in a web of shadows, secrets, and discoveries carefully kept within the stones and canals of the ancient city . . . and the mystery of the man whose story the book does not finish: Sebastian Trovato.

Don’t you just need to know every detail?!

Anyways, the real reason you’re here is to see the a poorly edited photo of me holding a book that just might become your new favorite. Well, here ya go! Allow me to introduce All the Lost Places by Amanda Dykes.

Isn’t it lovely? I do love the Madeleine L’Engle book that I’m actually holding, but I’m pumped for the day this watery world lands in my hands. All the Lost Places isn’t going to be released until December, which seems like forever away. But the good news is we can preorder it (I already did!) and get some awesome perks. The first one: If you preorder from a retailer like this Amazon link, you get entered to win this adorable book nook (have you seen these on Pinterest? AMAZING!) and it even lights up!

Or you can order from Baker Book house and get a discount, a signed copy and maybe even a legit Venetian watercolor bookmark.

I was on the fence (that book nook!), but I’m a sucker for a signed copy.

For more All the Lost Places fun, head over to my Facebook and instagram accounts to see the rest of this hilarious game that began with a description of the book cover. It cracks me up how they got all eight drawings from the original description of this lovely cover! It even gets a little blurry with some cryptids! (See a sneak peek below! It cracks me up how they got all 8 drawings from that lovely cover.) For more info or to connect with Amanda Dykes, you can head over to her website, here.
