Catch Your Breath: a winter poem
Poetry Disclaimer: sometimes I get into a poetic mood. I love (and live) to write prose. But poetry is not something I’m incredibly good at. And that’s okay with me. In fact it’s easier for me to share, like my art, because there’s much less risk if you don’t like it. But like many things, I’m happy to share them with my people regardless!
I wrote this one way back around New Years and unfortunately, it’s entirely too relevant still where I live!
Catch Your Breath
Winter solstice
and Christmas are gone.
Done.
But the winter is yet to come.
Blowing snow,
and subzero air pierce.
Death,
Has come it would seem.
Bending low,
Like trees beneath snow,
Fetal,
We hide under covers.
Breathing slow,
Preparing to grow,
REST
Draw it in ( ) before the exhale of spring.
