News: Restocks and Children’s Book

Oh goodness friends! I’m finding this writing journey to be a little bit crazy these days! Right now I’m waiting on restocks for Called to Belong, planning the official announcement of and meeting with my illustrator (virtually) for my children’s book, and plugging away at my novel. See what I mean? It’s like the ghosts of writing past, present & future!

In all honesty, I’m enjoying it so much. Well, most of it. It’s still very intimating to be working with a nationally-known illustrator. And I could do without the shipping delays on everything. But I feel so very alive now that I’m writing “for reals”. It requires kicking a lot of fear out of the way (hello again, imposter syndrome) and just choosing to grow. Anyways, I’m here today to update you on two things:

Writing Past: Called To Belong is FINALLY restocked! I think the package took the slow boat here, but they made it! Thank you for waiting patiently, I appreciate all of you who have jumped in line for it.

If you’re unfamiliar, Called to Belong is a small Bible study to help you find your place & identity within the local and global church. I originally wrote for a ministry I serve with, but God taught me so much in that area that I thought maybe more people could benefit too.

If you’re interested in studying this book together, I’m considering doing a study-along with videos and maybe some conversations. Let me know and stay tuned - if there’s enough interest we could do it before the busyness of summer hits!

Also, if you’re interested in doing this with a group, I’d be happy to give you a discounted rate on a group order of books. Just be sure to contact me early enough to get you enough books from the publisher (who apparently uses the slow boat:).

Writing Present: My illustrator and I meet in the next week or so and she will start on my picture book. The whole process will take a few months. I’ll write an entire post after our first meeting and reveal the illustrator. But here’s the teaser:

At first Christians might look like regular people, living regular lives. But if you take a closer look they’re actually (no kidding) super heroes. Little ones see and feel the challenges and battles this life presents. We’re making this book to show them how the amazing gadgets, team and identity available to those who follow Jesus are everything they need.

That’s enough news for now, I think! I hope the sun is shining on you as we’ve flipped the calendar to March. Are you a spring person? It’s not my very favorite, but boy am I glad to have the sun rising higher in the sky!!
